Edie -- a four-time Emmy Award winner -- who rose to small screen fame as mob matriarch Carmela Soprano on HBO's mafia drama, "The Sopranos," recently received her first Tony Award nomination for her role in the Broadway revival of "House of Blue Leaves."
However, the 47-year-old actress said appreciation from her fans means far more to her than industry recognition.
"I have an ambivalent relationship with awards shows," she told the blog. "What it means to me is that I am considered a legitimate member of this community... But as far as personal meaningfulness, the meaningful thing is when someone recognizes me on the street and just starts blathering things about how much they love a show that I'm in or something."
